Vintage Precision Steel Specialty Tool / Fixture
Interesting old precision-machined steel tool or fixture of unknown exact purpose.
It appears to be some type of machinist, watchmaker, jeweler, gunsmith, lathe, or precision work-holding/rest fixture. The piece has a movable/adjustable section, knurled adjustment screw, curved machined saddle or rest, mounting/attachment hole, and old-style slotted screws.
One of the most interesting features is the unusual circular patterned finish visible throughout portions of the steel.
