The massive granite masonry dam is shown from below, nestled between rocky canyon walls, with the Salt River visible at its base and a powerhouse structure at the foot of the dam. Roosevelt Dam, completed in 1911, was a key project of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and supplies irrigation water to the Salt River Valley.
