Here is a sample of barite on a reddish sandstone matrix. The barite appears as well formed tabular clusters or single crystals, in a pale olive green color. Most are transparent like fine, green glass. Many pieces will show tiny, black hematite crystals on the matrix, as well. Origin: Cerro Huarihuayin, Miraflores District, Huamalies Province, Huanuco Department, Peru.
