This is a nice selection of VALENTINE'S DAY postcards that are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s.This selection has the classic Valentine Day motifs such as: CHILDREN, PRETTY LADIES, HEARTS, FLOWERS, ANGELS, ROMANCE, FRIENDSHIP MESSAGES, etc. The postcards are nicely drawn and have a colorful look to them. The postcards are Flat Printed. The postcard with the lady and the trolley has GLITTER. They are attractive postcards with good detail that makes them pleasing to look at. They were madeby the publisher, ULLMAN Manufacturing Co.
These postcards were produced by Ullman Manufacturing Co. (1898-1915, NY), who published during the “Golden Age of Postcards” (1908-1915).They first published lithographic novelties and prints, and then went into publishing a wide variety of postcards and greeting cards.They are noted for their “Gold Border” Series.They are part of the group of publishers who are considered the “most wanted publishers” by collectors.They printed on heavy stock paper and many of their postcards were artist signed.One of their best postcards were the young girls with BONNETS.
These are good postcards to add to a collection. They wouldappeal to collectors because of their age, their colorful and attractive nature, and the way they capture life back in the early 1900s. Overall, a niceselection of antique Valentine Day postcards at a reasonable price.
The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (5) with cancel dates of 1907-12. These postcards were published in the USA during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915 era). They have DIVIDED backs.
These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector.The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains, toning, and edge wear due to their age (over 100 years old!).The photos show the postcards and the backs.
