Condition: Excellent, with thehandle free from cracks, chips, or other damage. The blade edge is straight.The cover is in great shape, with only a small fray on the front. The cover has the unit markings "28 K".

This shovel is the M1905 entrenching tool. This particular shovel is marked U.S. on the metal where it is attached to the blade and the wooden handle. The shovel measures 21 3/4" in length x 6 3/4" wide. The cover is marked R.I.A. 1908 on the back and on the leather closure. These original pre-WW1 entrenching tools are difficult to find, especially in this shape, so don't miss out on this one!!
