Very cool and hard-to-find vintage American Beer advertising sign from American Brewery Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland.
This unusual molded composition sign features a dimensional American Beer bottle beside a faux wooden beer barrel with raised advertising graphics reading:
“Ask For American All Grain Beer”
and
“Really Light! Really Dry!”
The molded barrel, bottle, wood-grain detailing, and raised lettering give this piece a great dimensional appearance and make it much more interesting than a standard flat advertising sign.
The sign measures approximately 10.5" × 10" and retains its hanging cord on the back.
Condition
Overall, this is a very attractive original vintage advertising piece with expected age-related wear.
There is some paint loss and surface wear throughout, particularly to portions of the raised lettering and bottle graphics.
The molded bottle shows additional wear, including label wear, discoloration/fading, paint loss, and surface scratches. There is also a hairline crack running through part of the bottle, as shown clearly in the close-up photo. The piece remains intact and displays well, but the crack is noted for accuracy.
The composition body and reverse show normal age-related wear consistent with an original vintage advertising display.
Despite the imperfections, this is a very appealing and tough-to-find piece of Baltimore breweriana, with excellent dimensional detail and strong display presence.
