Description
Antique Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Co. oak wall-mounted hand crank magneto telephone, manufactured in Chicago, Illinois.
Early 20th-century telephone featuring a solid wood cabinet, black receiver, transmitter, dual ringer bells, hand-crank magneto generator, internal electrical components, and original Kellogg wiring diagram marked No. 20164.
The interior retains its large multi-bar magneto generator and much of the original cloth-covered wiring and hardware. The lower section originally held dry-cell batteries; batteries are not included.
This telephone has not been electrically or functionally tested. Several internal wires are visibly disconnected or broken, so it is being sold AS-IS / UNTESTED, primarily as an antique collectible, restoration project, display piece, or source of original parts.
Approximate size is about 19–20 inches tall and 11–12 inches wide.
Shows substantial age-related wear including scratches, finish loss, dust, oxidation, old wiring, edge wear, and marks to the wood. Please examine all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
Note to buyer: To facilitate shipping, I have removed some of the protruding parts; you will need to install them yourself upon receipt (please refer to the last photo).
