1890s A.O.U.W. American Order of United Workman INMAN KANSAS LODGE RECEIPT BOOK
A.O.U.W. was a fraternal society for working class members.
This is a receipt book from the Inman, Kansas, Lodge. It looks like the dues to belong were $1.00 for three months or $4.00 per year.
The receipt book measures 10 3/4" long x 4" wide. About half of the receipts have been used (removed) but the stubs remain. Only a few of the stubs have been filled in; most are left blank. There are still 50 unused receipts remaining in the book. These are predated "189_" but a few of the stubs are dated 1906 so the date was just written over as needed.
